CHALLENGE
Aussielent came to market back in early 2015 with much fanfare and media attention. It was a revolutionary food concept that promised to be 100% meal replacement without compromising the essential vitamins and minerals one needed. It was the perfect meal without the preparation. However, while the business experienced rapid growth and success online the business outgrew the brand's differentiation from its competitors.
Before
Although Aussielent was well received in the market, its messaging and visual identity was too familiar with other online food brands, resulting in a plateau in sales and ability to attract a broader market limited. Co-Founders Paul Carpenter & Kieran Grogan's vision for Aussielent is to 'become the most trusted and innovative health food brand for nutritionally complete meals in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.'

SOLUTION
To rebuild and elevate the brand, BrandWorks helped Paul and Kieran revisit what Aussielent meant to them and to their customers. We immersed ourselves in their world, trying the product and keeping it well stocked in the car, office and home pantry for anyone to try. What we learned was the product as a great meal alternative when preparation and cooking was out of the question.
As a product that could sit alongside meals during the day and night, the studio found it convenient and satisfying, along with a punchy tagline "Made to Measure Meals" to support the brand's value proposition

RESULTS
With the new brand, visual language, and heart icon, Aussielent has become a market-leader within the nutrition category, reimagining convenience and food and championing its environmentally sustainable and socially impactful cause.
Within two years of the brand transformation, it has witnessed phenomenal growth:
Sales grew 9x, from 200,000 meals sold to 1.8 million.

Funnily enough, James, our logistics provider, who comes in contact with the product every day rang me up last week and said,
“I noticed you guys rebranded. I’m actually thinking I might start using the product now that I’ve seen the website. Individuals just like James seem to understand the brand better now. “I think that’s attributable to all of the brand strategy work we did with BrandWorks to really help customers understand what the product is about.
In understanding its customers better, it has since introduced a new range within its core line-up designed to meet the changing needs of its customers including vegan, lo-carb, protein-rich supermeals, ready-to-drink and weight-management range.
The next goal is to see Aussielent on the shelves of Australia's major supermarkets and retailers and in Asia.
