Examples of our work
DELHI STREETS
INTERIOR, BRANDING
For Delhi Streets, BrandWorks was engaged to develop branding and interiors that captured the vitality and energy of the streets and street food culture of India – bright, kitsch and with a slightly ad-hoc feel. The branding uses a palette drawn from old Indian movie advertising and street stalls in Delhi, as well as familiar icons such as tuk tuks and Bollywood dancers. The logo was inspired by the well known ‘Horn Please’ signs frequently seen on Indian roads.
SON IN LAW
BRANDING, INTERIOR
For Son in Law, BrandWorks was engaged in developing a brand that would reflect their menu and approach to their food; traditional Thai flavours, but with some fun modern twists. It was important that the brand was unique, fun and bright, but would also come across as approachable, local and communicate the affordable quality of their food.
LAKSA KING KITCHEN
BRANDING, PHOTOGRAPHY ART DIRECTION
Talk to any Malaysian about home, and the first thing they'll talk about is food. When Laksa King Kitchen came to BrandWorks to develop a their brand, we took inspiration from the heart of Malaysian culture; the dualism in Peranakan culture that is a balanced result of Chinese and Malaysian, as well as the textures in the featured dish at the restaurant, Laksa. This resulted in a contrast of two different elements, solid block colours and a marble texture, emulating the patterns in the soup of Laksa to create a striking but visually pleasing balance. It was essential the brand was elegant, but also warm and inviting which was achieved with pastels, inspired by Peranakan culture and the colours found in Laksa.
BROOKLYN DEPOT
CONCEPT DIRECTION, INTERIOR
With a name like Brooklyn Depot, the client’s brief for BrandWorks was simple. To make the restaurant and bar look like an American diner straight out of Brooklyn, with an industrial edge inspired by warehouses. BrandWorks worked with the client to create the concept for the interior, creating detailed renders with the chosen finishes, materials and lighting, which helped direct the final documentation, building and visual merchandising of the restaurant.
