nüde is an evolution of one of Canggu’s most recognisable cafés, reimagined to capture the heart and culture that has always existed within its community. Long loved the expat crowd for its wholesome food and warm, Scandinavian-inspired space. The brand has reached a pivotal moment: moving beyond being “just a café” and stepping into a lifestyle-driven identity with deeper purpose. The brief calls for revitalising nüde’s presence whilst retaining its approachable, people-first spirit, while crafting a clearer emotional soul and visual direction that reflects its growth.
Approach
Focused on reshaping the brand into something more expressive, contemporary and culturally attuned as it expands beyond its vegan origins into a fuller, more satisfying offering. Rather than reinventing what made nüde beloved, the goal is to refine and articulate its character, capturing the warmth, community energy and Scandinavian ease that have always defined the café, while giving it a clearer, more emotionally resonant identity. The branding leans into a tone that feels distinctly Bali yet globally fluent, blending approachable charm with a polished visual language that elevates nüde from a casual favourite to a lifestyle-led brand. Through considered typography, a refreshed whimsical colour system inspired by fun Danish design, and a voice that celebrates togetherness, the project aims to build a cohesive personality that aligns with the loyalty of its community. The result is a brand crafted not just for dining, but for connection, belonging and the everyday rituals that keep people returning.

The visual system is crafted to feel calm, warm, and familiar, using soft typography, natural tones, and tactile graphic details that echo the café’s blonde timber interiors and curated pops of colour. These elements come together to form a brand that feels lived-in rather than manufactured, expressive without being loud.
