West Kitchen & Bar, nestled within the Wonil Hotel at the University of Western Australia, sought to establish itself as a premier wine bar celebrating the finest offerings of Western Australia. Realising the potential of this unique venue, BrandWorks was entrusted with the task of creating a compelling brand strategy, design, and collateral rollout to bring the vision to life.

Approach

Before venturing into brand design, BrandWorks strategically developed West Kitchen & Bar's identity. Thorough market analysis and customer persona studies shaped a brand story, headline, and elevator pitch, ensuring alignment with the venue's vision. This strategic groundwork laid the foundation for the brand design phase, resulting in an elegant brand identity that reflects both the physical attributes of the venue and the aspirations of its patrons, establishing West Kitchen & Bar as a standout destination in Perth's culinary landscape.

The team crafted an elegant modern lowercase brandmark that exuded accessibility, paired with a rich colour palette inspired by natural inks and dyes from local ingredients. The design seamlessly incorporated macro photography to highlight the quality of Western Australian produce.
